Absence and holidays

What do I need to remember if I am absent or on holiday?

If you become ill or if you go on holiday, you must notify Olivia Belling-Nami or Mads Schäfer Bak (the Danish Centre for Studies in Research and Research Policy).

Also remember to inform your students on Brightspace.

If we do not not hear from you regarding holidays, you will automatically be pre-registered as having six weeks of vacation in the following periods provided that you have earned 5 weeks of vacation and 5 days of special holidays:

  • Four weeks in July (weeks 27-30)
  • One week in week 42
  • 5 special holidays for Christmas and New Year

If you would like the special holidays to be registered differently, please contact Olivia.

Pre-registration of special holidays does not prevent you from sending a reasoned request to headofdepartment@ps.au.dk for payment of one or more special holidays before the deadline at 20 January.

Members of staff who have earned holiday allowance outside AU must always notify us when they are taking holidays.

Where can i check my holiday status?

You will accrue 2.08 days of paid vacation per month of work. 

On MitHR, you can check how many holidays, special holidays and childcare days you have left.
