Hi all – or as we say in Czech, ahoy,

I'm Tadeas (Tad for short), and I’ll be joining Aarhus University as a postdoc from August. I’ll be working on the Advertising Democracy project with Suthan Krishnarajan, exploring how visual treatments can promote democracy over appeal of authoritarians in ways that are both effective and scalable.

Besides that goal, my research interests lie in the study of ideology—how citizens structure their beliefs into broader worldviews, how political elites create ideological narratives, and how such messages shape political conflict in the eyes of their voters. I am also interested in comparative European politics or attitude formation. I will be joining a section on political behaviour and institutions.

Previously, I was a fellow or visiting researcher at the University of Zurich, Dartmouth College, and the University of Vienna. I completed my PhD at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic.

Outside of research, I enjoy hiking (sometimes cycling), reading (currently The Sympathizer), and occasionally playing the violin. Feel free to stop by office 1331-314 for a chat—about research or just over a cup of coffee.
