Hi everyone!

My name is Laura, and I started as a PhD student at the department on September 1st. You may have seen me around, as I have been working as an organizational consultant in the leadership center for the last two years. While it has been a great pleasure working as an organizational consultant with a great team, I am very excited to start my own PhD project.

My project will focus on moral distress among professionals. Moral distress can occur in situations where professionals are prohibited from pursuing what they believe is the right course of action due to institutional constraints. For some professionals, this can cause negative self-directed emotions such as feelings of guilt or inadequacy. Such a reaction can be described as moral distress. With my project, I aim to study how moral distress plays out in public organizations, how significant of an issue it is, and how it affects organizational outcomes. I am fortunate to have a strong team of supervisors, Lotte Bøgh Andersen and Morten Jakobsen, to guide and help me along the way.

In my spare time, I currently spend a lot of time trying to become a better runner. My great colleagues, Florian and Daniel, are very optimistic about my potential to become a long-distance runner, so I am (very slowly) trying to live up to their expectations.

My office is in building 1340-350, and you are most welcome to come by for a chat!
