Ny postdoc ved CFA - George Richard Brian Salter
Hello everyone,
My name is George and I’m a new postdoc at the Dansk Center for Forskningsanalyse. I’ll be working with colleagues here to understand new Open Science models for connecting industrial firms to university ecosystems.
Broadly I’m interested in researching the International Political Economy (IPE) of tech innovation with a focus on science-intensive sectors. I look at both the micro and macro dynamics unfolding in the collision spaces between states and globally dispersed emerging technology markets. My research is animated by perspectives from IPE, organisational sociology, and innovation studies. I’m always looking to answer the question of who innovates and creates value, how, and why, and where is this value captured within and across national boundaries.
My PhD brought together multiple disciplines to look at the UK’s foreign policy and diplomatic activities around science, innovation and tech. I was lucky enough to spend a year seconded to the UK Ministry of Foreign Affairs which gave me another level of insight into the inner workings of diplomacy in a way interviews can’t capture. I trained in a public policy department at University College London so have an ongoing interest in public administration and originally studied Philosophy & Politics at undergrad meaning I enjoy discussing all things political philosophy and International Relations.
Beyond work I like to play tennis and rugby, watch classic and new movies, play my guitar, read, and get some sun whenever possible.
I’m in office (1331 – 019) and my door is always open for a chat. Cheers!
