Hi everyone, my name is Olivia, and I’m a new PhD student at the department.

So far, my research project focuses on restrictive integration policies and their effects on different dimensions of immigrants’ integration. I’m interested in how such policies affect both labour market integration and immigrants’ social and political integration, for example through experiences of discrimination. My supervisors are Kim Mannemar Sønderskov and Simon Calmar Andersen, and I’ll be part of the Political Behaviour and Institutions section.

I’m from Copenhagen and did my studies at the University of Copenhagen. As I’m half French, I’ve also lived in France for some years. During my studies, I did an exchange and an internship in Paris, and most recently an exchange in Barcelona.

Now I’m looking forward to discovering Aarhus - especially its cultural life and music scene. I’m planning to start playing football (although I’m a total beginner), and hopefully also find some Spanish courses.
