Hi everyone,

My name is Samuel, and I just started as a PhD student in the section for Political Behavior and Institutions, and I will be affiliated with CEPDISC.

In my project, I investigate how social media might fuel ethnic discrimination. I am particularly interested in examining how majority members react when exposed to ethnic minorities online. Additionally, I am looking into how debates on identity politics on social media is shaping perceptions of ethnic minorities. I plan on examining these questions experimentally. I am very lucky to be under competent guidance by Kim Mannemar and Lasse Laustsen.

I hold a BSc in Political Science from AU and as a part of the 4+4 program, I will be completing my master’s degree while starting on the PhD project.

In my spare time I enjoy doing DIY projects with my new jigsaw, brewing a good cup of coffee, hanging out with friends, and spending time with my wife and our two-year-old daughter, which means I spend a lot of time at playgrounds and playing hide and seek. Please drop by my office in 1340-260 if you want to say hi, and chat about social media, ethnic discrimination, how a good espresso shot is made or how (not) to use a jigsaw.

I look very much forward to meeting everyone and getting started!
