On March 5-6, Professor Jennifer Piscopo, Royal Holloway University of London, visits the department.
Professor Jennifer Piscopo will give a talk entitled “Countries under stress: does women's representation enhance the democratic legitimacy of governance reforms” on 5 March from 13:00-14:00. All are welcome.
Workshop
The talk is also a keynote presentation at the workshop “Pressing Questions in Political Representation and Political Psychology”, organised by Lasse Lausten and Lene Aarøe, and running from 10:00 to 16:00 on 5 March. You can find the programme for the workshop below. You are welcome to attend the entire workshop, parts of the programme, or just one or both of the keynotes on the programme.

Short bio
Jennifer M. Piscopo is Professor of Gender and Politics and Director of the Gender Institute at Royal Holloway, University of London. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on women's political representation, gender quotas, and elections in Latin America, the United States, and globally, and has been published in leading journals including American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, and Politics & Gender. She is co-editor of The Impact of Gender Quotas (Oxford University Press, 2012) and co-editor of The European Journal of Politics and Gender.
