New postdoc - Zeljko Poljak
Hi all,
My name is Željko (no need to worry about the pronunciation), and I joined the department this January as a postdoc. I am part of the YOUTHPOL project, led by Henrik Bech Seeberg and funded by the Danish Research Council, which studies political parties’ youth wings and youth representation.
Previously, I was a postdoc at the University of Antwerp, where I also completed my PhD on negativity and incivility in party and elite communication. My dissertation examined how timing and elections shape hostile political discourse, and whether such discourse serves not only office- and vote-seeking goals, but also the policy-seeking goals of parties and political elites. More broadly, my research sits at the intersection of party politics and political communication.
In my free time, I enjoy gaming, skiing, and hiking. I will be sharing an office with Sofia in room 1340-234, so feel free to stop by for a chat or a cup of coffee or tea. I’m looking forward to meeting you all!
