New postdoc - Søren Frank Etzerodt

My name is Søren, and I have been employed as a postdoc at Aarhus University (AU) since August 2025.
I am working on Anne Skorkjær Binderkrantz’s IRFD project about when interest groups represent their members. As a part of my employment at AU, I will also contribute to The Danish Democracy and Power Study 2.0 (Magtudredningen 2.0). My research agenda falls into four categories:
(1) The relationship between institutions and firm interests & behavior;
(2) Compensation for uncertainties and the politics thereof;
(3) Gendered representation;
and (4) Danish politics. I am affiliated with the Comparative Politics section.
I hold a Ph.D. in political science from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Before joining AU, I worked as a postdoc at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich. Prior to embarking on my academic adventures, I worked with economic policy-making (Finanasloven) in the Danish Ministry of Culture.
Next to research, I’m a music enthusiast with a deep love for jazz and neo-soul. Culture is my playground: museums, theaters, and concerts keep me inspired. I also dabble on my electric Fender guitar (though, I’ll admit, it’s been gathering a bit of dust lately). Learning Spanish is my latest adventure (para todo mal mezcal, para todo bien, también!).
Feel free to drop by my office any time (1331-322).
