My name is Lisa Herbig and I am very excited to start as a postdoc as of 1 February within the YOPOW Project (PI: Kristina Bakkær Simonsen). Together, we will examine the messages adolescents receive about political power, the beliefs they form, and the early experiences they have with political power. I’ll also be part of the political socialization group, and I’m very much looking forward to collaborating and exchanging ideas.

My research interests center on political attitudes and political communication. Before coming to Aarhus, I completed my PhD at the University of Amsterdam, where I studied intra-European border policies, their justification by government actors, and their effects on public opinion. Originally, I’m from Frankfurt, Germany, where I studied psychology.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, playing the saxophone, and an occasional ping-pong match. From now on, my spare time will also include learning Danish (please have mercy and speak very langsomt with me!) and commuting from Aalborg, so I’m collecting recommendations for good ways to spend time on public transport, especially for (audio)books and podcasts.

My office is located in 1331 – 229, and I’m always happy about spontaneous drop-bys for a chat or a coffee ☕️
