Hi everyone!

After completing my PhD at the University of Oslo, I'm delighted to be joining the Department of Political Science at Aarhus University. My name is Louisa, and I'll start as a postdoctoral research fellow at the department on September 21st. I'll be working on the ERC-funded Slow-Motion Democracy project, led by Kees Van Kersbergen.

My work has been published in The Journal of Politics and the British Journal of Political Science, with forthcoming articles in the American Journal of Political Science and the European Journal of Political Research. I have two main research interests: the first centers on gender representation, and the second on judicial politics, where I study court performance and institutional and judicial behavior. As a postdoc, I'll continue working on topics close to my heart — I'll be lead researcher for Work Package 2, examining how social acceleration affects liberal-democratic constitutional performance and lawmaking.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me at a concert, trying out new restaurants and wines, or planning my next trip. I also stay active with CrossFit, running, and hiking whenever I get the chance — and I'm always happy to talk movies, series or music if you have recommendations.

Feel free to drop by my office (1340-128) for a chat about research, or to practice understanding Norwegian (or help me practice my Danish!). Since I've never been in Aarhus before moving here, I'd love any recommendations for the city — best coffee, best bakery, best restaurants, places to visit, good spots to run or swim, and where to buy locally sourced groceries.
