New PhD Student - Lars Buur Nørlev
My name is Lars and I have had the good fortune to start at the department as a ph.d student the 1st of January. My project is a collaborative business-Ph.D. between the King Frederiks Center for Public Leadership and the department for Organizational development and Leadership and University College of Nordjylland, where I hold a position as associate professor.
My project aims to develop the concept of social cohesion within the public school and measure its correlation with transformational leadership. Besides adding to the theoretical development of the concept of social cohesion, the novel aspect of the project resides in the planned inclusion of both pupils (from the 7th to the 9th grade) their parents, as well professionals and leaders in the theoretical development. The project is a continuation of a deep fascination of the dynamics between individuals that creates, upholds and degrades communities, whether small in scale or large. In this endeavor I have the supervision of Lotte Bøgh Andersen and Morten Brænder, as well as Preben Kirkegaard, docent at University College of Nordjylland.
I have a host of interests which I am able to occupy myself with – the least obscure being boardgames, gardening and all sorts of renovations around our charming old house in the village of Noevling in the vicinity of Aalborg – while being a father of three and the husband of a lovely wife.
If you feel like having a chat about social cohesion, or the finer details of bricklaying in the garden, you are most welcome at my office (1340-340). I have scheduled being at my office Wednesday through Friday, so dinner invitations would be much appreciated, I promise to bring my best manners along.
