New PhD Student: Simon Tangen Søgaard
Hello everyone!
My name is Simon, and I joined the Comparative Politics section as a research assistant on June 1st. I will be working on the project "The Political Economy of Local Food System Governance," coordinated by Mette Kjær, in the following month.
I am interested in agricultural development on the African continent. Last year, I completed my thesis on low-input policies and agricultural transformation in Ethiopia. Starting in September, I will begin my PhD, focusing on adaptation policies in agriculture and their impact on poverty.
In my spare time, I enjoy hands-on agricultural work. This July, I will be visiting an agricultural school in Mozambique for the fourth time. There's something fulfilling about planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting. I also tend to my own vegetables in a small allotment near Risskov.
Feel free to drop by my office (1331-317) for a cup of coffee or perhaps a small glass of homemade cider.
Looking forward to meeting you!
