At the next meeting of the department’s Climate Network, we have a talk by Ole-Kenneth Nielsen Chief Consultant, iCLIMATE Aarhus University Interdisciplinary Centre for Climate Change.
The theme is: How are Co2 emissions calculated? This includes different accounting principles (national emissions vs. consumption-based emissions) and the politics of how to calculate emissions.
Ole-Kenneth Nielsen is an expert on emission modeling, the project leader for the Danish air emission inventories to the UN, a negotiator in the UN Climate negotiations focusing on the transparency framework – and has participated in many COP meetings.
