Sarah writes about her project:

My name is Sarah Wagner, and I am a visiting PhD researcher at Aarhus for the next six months. I’m currently in the third year of my PhD, which I am doing at the University of Essex, UK. My doctoral research is kindly funded by the Foundation for German Business (Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft).

I got my BA from the University of Essex and a MSc from the London School of Economics. My general area of interest is party politics. My doctoral research focuses on radical left parties and their strategies towards issues like Euroscepticism and nationalism. I use quantitative methods in my work, however during my research stay I’m hoping to explore mixed methods through elite interviews with party candidates.

My host supervisor in Aarhus is Helene Helboe Pedersen. Please get in touch with me if you would like to discuss radical left parties and party strategy.
