My name is Frederik Godt and I am a new 4+4 PhD student in the Public Administration section. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Aarhus University (and will hold a master’s degree within the first two years of my employment).

My project aims to get a better understanding of citizens’ perceptions of the public sector by studying questions such as: Are public organisations associated with perceptions of low performance merely because they are public? Does a stereotypical image of public organisations as low performing apply to all dimensions of performance or might public bureaucracies be more positively perceived on certain aspects of performance? Answers to such questions have important implications for the public sector. Consequently, how such negative stereotypes can be modified becomes a fundamental question. I aim at finding answers to the above-mentioned questions by use of quantitative research strategies, in particular experiments.
The project is supervised by Martin Bækgaard and Lene Aarøe.

I am delighted to be a part of the department and look forward to meeting you all.
