Hi! I am a new Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and part of the International Politics section. My research lies at the intersection of International Relations and Comparative Politics. Mainly, I study peace and conflict, with a particular focus on local (informal) norms and institutions, demography, and their interaction with state institutions.

Before coming to Aarhus, I was a predoctoral researcher at the University of Konstanz, Germany, where I also received my doctoral degree. In my PhD dissertation, I analyzed how local customary norms and institutions—such as conflict resolutions mechanisms and marriage patterns—affect both communal and territorial conflict. I received my MSc from the LSE and my BA from the University of Mannheim, with some time spent in Norway and the US in the meantime.

I am really happy to find a home here in Aarhus and at Aarhus University and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. Please feel free to drop by my office and say hi!
