07.09.2017 | Ingrid Marie Fossum

My name is Jonathan Klüser and I am a new PhD fellow at the department affiliated with the section of comparative politics. Originally from wider Cologne in Germany, I studied at the University of Konstanz where I was awarded both a BA in Politics and Public Administration as well as a MA in Comparative Policy and Public Policy Analysis. Furthermore, I hold an MSc in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford.

My PhD project deals with the responsiveness of welfare reform in economically developed countries. When are existing schemes updated regularly and adapted to changing socio-economic contexts? Under which conditions, in contrast, do social frameworks remain untouched and become policy Methuselahs? Integrating strands of reasoning from classical political economy and public policy I aim at both finding answers to these questions theoretically and testing them empirically using quantitative research strategies.

I am more than happy to be a new part of the department and looking forward to meeting you. Please find me in my office in 1341 – 116.
