In his role as leading Google’s Social Impact (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Malte and his team are building and maintaining partnerships with governmental authorities and NGOs that form the basis for publicly available information in the areas of Elections, Civic Engagement and Crisis Response.

Some of the products he has been involved in may already be familiar to you. They include the Voting Information Project<https://votinginfoproject.org/> in the US for which Google partnered with The Pew Charitable Trusts and a project on political representation<https://www.theyworkforyou.com/> in the UK with plans to expand it to more countries in collaboration with mySociety.

But he has also been involved in projects that provide rapid and live information on Crisis Response<https://crisisresponse.google/> which kick in in times of natural disasters such as the fires this summer in Sweden or human-induced disasters such as shootings.

Malte Will will give us a tour of some of his team’s projects and their rationale in the areas of Elections, Civic Engagement and Crisis Response for 30-45 minutes, followed by Q&A.
